COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Drake University men's golf team shaved off 11 strokes in its afternoon round at the Missouri Tiger Invitational, hosted by the University of Missouri at The Club at Old Hawthorne.
The Bulldogs finished the day with a 311-300 – 611 team score to sit in 14
th place heading into Tuesday's final round.
Tim Lim helped lead that second-round improvement with a 4-under par 68 in his afternoon round. That score was tied for the lowest second-round score of the day and tied for the fourth-lowest total in the first two rounds.
Lim's scorecard featured seven birdies and a 3-under par 33 on the front nine. Lim posted a 4-over par 76 in the morning round to sit in a tie for 18
th heading into Tuesday.
Shayne Patel followed Lim in scoring at 76-79 – 155 while
Nick Pittman (79-78),
Lucas Scherf (80-77) and
Kyle MacDonald (80-77) are all tied for 69
th with matching two-round totals of 157.
Kansas State owns the team lead at 277-281 – 558 thanks to Will Hopkins blistering 11-under total of 64-69 – 133 to lead all individuals.
The Bulldogs return to the course Tuesday morning at 8 a.m. for the final round of the three-round, two-day event.
