The Drake University volleyball team has added international standout Zeynep Gur to the roster for the 2021, head coach Darrin McBroom announced.
 
Gur, who joins the Bulldogs from her native Turkey, is a 5-11 outside hitter.
 
At her secondary school in Istanbul, she was a two-time team captain that led her team to four tournament titles in 2019-20.
 
She was also a member of the club teams Galatasaray SC and Fenerbahçe SC. While with Galatasaray SC, she helped the team to second-place finish among U18 teams in Istanbul and a fourth-place finish nationally in 2019. In 2017 she helped the squad win the national title.
 
With Fenerbahçe SC, she was part of a program that won the Turkish U15 national title in 2016 with her as team captain.
 
Gur joins a program that is coming off a second-place finish in the Missouri Valley Conference during the regular season and No. 2 spot in the MVC Tournament to match the best league finish in program history.
