Junior Danny Morales of the Drake University football team has been named to the 2021 CoSIDA Football Academic All-District 6 First Team.
 
It is the second academic all-district selection for Morales who earned his first in 2019. He majors in health sciences and holds a 3.83 cumulative grade point average. Morales is now eligible for the Academic All-America ballot.
 
This past spring, Morales led the Pioneer Football League in pass breakups with nine, totaled 28 tackles and snagged one interception. He collected All-PFL Second Team honors and was chosen to the All-PFL Academic First Team for the second time.
 
To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution. Nominated athletes must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games at the position listed on the nomination form (where applicable).
