Men’s Basketball Season Tickets On Sale Friday

Bulldogs' home schedule features a Nov. 20 date against Richmond and at least four other home opponents.

Coming off three of the most successful seasons in program history, the Drake University men's basketball team has announced a 2021-22 non-conference schedule that currently features at least five games at the Knapp Center and five marquee neutral-site games with the potential for additional contests to be added.

The home slate includes a Nov. 20 contest against Richmond, a team that won 24 games in 2019-20 and advanced to the second round of the National Invitation Tournament last season.

Season tickets for the entire home slate go on sale Friday morning via DrakeTix.com. The Bulldogs are coming off a 26-5 season in which they earned their first NCAA Tournament berth in 13 years and first-ever at-large selection. The team returns a roster that includes a total of seven All-MVC award winners led by two-time MVC Coach of the Year Darian DeVries, who will be entering his fourth season at the helm of the program.

The Bulldogs' neutral-site games include three games at the ESPN Events Invitational Nob. 25-28 that the team opens against Belmont, one of the strongest mid-major programs in the nation. Drake will then face one of the six other teams in the event, including Kansas, Alabama, Dayton, Miami, North Texas, and Iona.

Drake also has games against Clemson and Saint Louis on its non-conference slate. The Bulldogs face Clemson in Atlanta at State Farm Arena Dec. 11 as part of the Holiday Hoopsgiving event, including Georgia Tech, Nebraska, Auburn, LSU, Mississippi, and Western Kentucky.

In its other neutral-site game, the Bulldogs face Saint Louis in Las Vegas, Dec. 22, before the Holiday break.

Drake's home schedule begins Nov. 4 with an exhibition against Drury before the official start of the NCAA season Nov. 9.

Following the team's trip to Orlando, the non-conference season will be briefly interrupted Dec. 2 for the Missouri Valley Conference opener against an MVC rival revealed with the conference schedule.

A Dec. 5 date against St. Thomas precedes a Dec. 8 visit to Omaha and the Dec. 11 game against Clemson. The Bulldogs return to the Knapp Center for games against Jackson State and Chicago State Dec. 16 and 19, respectively.

Drake's final non-conference game of the season comes after the Holiday break with a Dec. 28 date against Mount Marty in the Knapp Center before the team embarks
