The Drake University women's basketball team is set to host in state rival UNI on Friday Jan. 21. Tipoff is set for 6p.m. on ESPN+. 

Drake will wear their Hometown Team jerseys for the match-up in honor of Hometown Team Week in Des Moines. 

Drake is looking to end a four game losing-streak after falling to SIU and Missouri State over the weekend. 

Despite taking late leads in both games, the Bulldogs were unable to come out on top. 

Junior guard Megan Meyer earned Valley Newcomer of the week for her performance over the weekend. She averaged 11.5 points per game, 5.5 rebounds, four steals, and 2.5 assists. She recorded a career high six steals against SIU. 

Junior forward Maggie Bair tallied 18 points and eight rebounds against SIU. She added another nine points and five rebounds against the Bears. 

UNI comes to Des Moines after winning their last three Valley games and most notably defeating Missouri State. 

The Panthers encountered a rare occurrence at their Jan. 15 game against Southern Illinois. UNI saw the program's first double technical foul call at the start of the fourth quarter following a review of an initial jumpball call. 

The Panthers are led by senior guard Karli Rucker who averaged 13.8 points per game this season. 

Freshman forward Grace Boffeli leads UNI in rebounding this season as she averages 8.5 per game. 

The Bulldogs lead the all-time series with the Panthers, 67-25, winning their last two meetings. 

The Bulldogs will hit the road following Hometown Team week.
