The Drake University women's volleyball team has added transfer Thea Rotto to their spring 2022 roster, as announce by head coach 
Darrin McBroom on Jan. 24. 
McBroom said, "We are really excited to welcome Thea into our program.  She is dynamic athlete and I really appreciated her interest in Drake.  She has the right mindset and focus to be a successful athlete in our program.  I think she will definitely add to the culture that we are trying to establish."
Rotto, a 5-11 outside hitter, joins the Bulldogs after a semester at Bucknell University, where she played in 11 matches and 19 total sets. 
Originally from Ames, Iowa, Rotto holds the all time kills record at Gilbert High School where she finished her career with 1,245 total kills. She was second in Gilbert history for most service aces with 153. 
In high school, she was All-State, four-time All-Conference, and a State Semi-Finalist in volleyball. She was also a three-time All-Conference basketball player, as well as a State quarterfinalist. Rotto also earned Academic All-State twice in her high school career. 
At Bucknell, she recorded a career high 11 kills against St. Peter's. She also made it on the Dean's List for her academic achievements.
