RIVERSIDE, Iowa – Fall Drake men's golf was up against cold temperatures and windy conditions on the final day of the Iowa Fall Classic hosted at Blue Top Ridge Golf Course (Par 72) on Monday, Oct. 17. The weather did not stop
Nick Pittman was sinking a hole in one on hole 11. The Bulldogs finished in seventh place as a team (309-307-318-934). Iowa (294-302-288-884) came back to win its own tournament by six strokes.
Shayne Patel (74-76-79-229) wrapped up play tied for 14
th place. Patel concluded the tournament with eight birdies and 32 pars. Freshman
Cale Leonard (77-77-79-233) was consistent throughout all three rounds to wind up tied for 24
th place.
Boosted by his hole in one,
Nick Pittman (80-77-78-235) provided Drake's lowest score of the final round.
Jack Dumas (82-77-82-241) and
Silvester Tan (78-80-84-242) rounded out the Bulldog lineup.
Lucas Scherf (75-81-79-235) competed as an individual and finished in a tie for 28
th.
Drake men's golf will head to the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate in Powells Point, N.C., Oct. 23-25 for its last tournament of the fall season.
