HOLLISTER, Mo. – The Drake women's golf team is tied for fourth place after round one of the Ozarks National Invitational Monday, Oct. 31. The Bulldogs navigated the prestigious course at Ozarks National (Par 72) with a combined score of 306 (+18).
Kristen Giles earned medalist honors in Drake's last tournament nearly a month ago. Giles is tied for second overall with an opening round 73. She is also tied for the tournament lead in birdies with five thus far. Rylee Heryford (75) is just two strokes back tied for seventh place.
Aayushi Sarkar turned in a first round score of 78 followed by Amber Henson (80) and
Kelly Kavanagh (82). Tournament leader Wichita state (30-2) is just four strokes ahead of the Bulldogs through 18 holes of play.
The second round of the Ozarks National Invitational hosted by Missouri State will begin Tuesday (Nov. 1) at 9:30 a.m.
