DES MOINES, Iowa -- The Drake women's soccer team surrendered two second half goals in a 2-0 loss against UIC at Drake Stadium on Sunday, Oct. 9. The Bulldogs moved to 2-7-5 overall (1-2-3 in Missouri Valley Conference play) while the Flames (3-5-4, 3-1-2) haven't lost since Sept. 22.

Vianey Lopez picked up two saves in the first 15 minutes.
Rachel Panther fired a shot in the final seconds of the first half that was saved by UIC's Lauren Keiser. Several shots in the first 45 minutes of the play were blocked by both teams as there was a 0-0 stalemate at halftime.
A physical second half began with a UIC goal in the 49th minute. Makena Shaw passed the ball outside of the six-yard box to Sophie Jaime, who finished it into the bottom right corner of the net for the first goal of the contest.
Leading 1-0, the Flames tacked on another goal in the 56 minute when a shot by Jelena Zbiljic ricocheted off the right post directly to Frankie Frerichs in front of the net. Frerichs knocked the ball into the right corner of the net with her right foot for a 2-0 UIC advantage.
The Flames continued to control the pace of play throughout to seal a 2-0 road victory.
