ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Bulldog volleyball was well-represented on the 2022 MVC awards and honors list highlighted by senior outside hitter
Haley Bush's collection of the Valley's Player of the Year award. Drake freshman also claimed the MVC Freshman of the Year award after a spectacular rookie campaign.
Haley Bush is the eighth player in MVC history to win multiple Player of the Year awards after winning the same award in the COVID-19-affected 2020-21 spring season. Bush ranks fifth in the MVC with 432 kills this season and second in the Valley with 4.24 kills per set. She currently sits fifth all-time on the Bulldogs' career kills list with 1,225. Bush recorded four 20+ kill performances this season with a single-match best of 27 kills in a three-set sweep over UIC (10/15).
Drake first-year star Addison Beagle was awarded the MVC Freshman of the Year honor after collecting five Freshman of the Week awards throughout the season. The Bulldog setter led all freshmen nationally with 1,301 total assists this season and averaged 11.41 assists per set. She logged the most assists in a three-set match (47) and five-set match (67) in the league this season. Beagle also contributed on defense with the second-most digs (264) for Drake and the sixth-most serice aces in the MVC (39). She is the first Freshman of the Year honoree in Drake volleyball history.
The Bulldogs' other first-teamer is outside hitter
Mariana Rodrigues. The veteran hitter amassed 392 kills for an average of 4.00 per set, both the second-most on the Drake roster and among the top 10 in the MVC.

Jada Wills was also recognized for her efforts this season with a Second Team All-MVC selection. Wills finished the regular season with 597 digs, the second-most in the MVC, also the highest total on Drake's roster. She also averaged an impressive 5.24 digs per set.
UNI swept the remainder of the MVC individual awards. The Panthers' Tayler Alden took home the Setter of the Year while graduate Sydney Petersen earned the conference's Libero of the Year award. UNI head coach Bobbi Petersen also picked up her seventh Coach of the Year honor after leading the Panthers to their 20th regular season conference title.
