ST. LOUIS -- Drake men's basketball sophomore swingman
Tucker DeVries was named Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday (Nov. 21).
DeVries averaged 21.7 points and 5.3 rebounds during the past three games against Wofford, Buffalo and Wyoming. DeVries has been 13-of-15 at the free throw line during that three game stretch.
He scored a career-high 29 points in Drake's 61-56 victory over Wyoming in the Paradise Jam semifinal. During a 16-3 Drake run at the end of the first half against the Cowboys, DeVries provided 14 of 16 points. DeVries has scored at least 22 points in three of his first four games. DeVries ripped down a career-high nine rebounds in the 80-72 win over Wofford last Monday. He picked up three MVC Newcomer of the Week awards last season.
The Bulldogs will face Tarleton State in the Paradise Jam championship on Monday night (Nov. 21) at 7 p.m. (CT).
