Becker, Emmick Join Track & Field Coaching Staff

Hannah Becker and Elise Emmick are the newest additions to the Drake track & field coaching staff.

DES MOINES, Iowa – Drake track & field and cross country head coach Jay Koloseus announced the hiring of Hannah Becker and Elise Emmick as assistant track & field coaches on Tuesday, Nov. 8.

"We are very excited to welcome Elise and Hannah," Kolosesus said. "Both came highly recommended and will give our student-athletes another layer of support."

Becker joins the Drake track & field staff to assist with jumps and hurdles. Prior to Drake, Becker spent two seasons at Lisbon High School as the boys and girls assistant track & field coach. While at Lisbon, Becker guided student-athletes to six state titles in the jumps and hurdles including a Drake Relays champion in the 400 hurdles.

Before entering the coaching world, Becker represented the University of Central Missouri in the pentathlon and the heptathlon. As an athlete, Becker was able to expand her knowledge and technical background, as well as her love for the sport. Becker, a native of Mount Pleasant, Iowa graduated from UCM with a bachelor's degree in accounting.

Emmick joined Drake as an assistant coach to help with logistics as well as assist with the distance runners.

The Milo, Iowa native earned her bachelor's degree in nutrition and dietetics from South Dakota State in 2022. At South Dakota State, she also competed in distance events and graduated as a Jackrabbit Scholar Athlete.
