DES MOINES, Iowa – Jordan 'Chico' Johnson officially signed with the Drake men's basketball program on Wednesday, Nov. 9. Johnson is a six-foot-three guard from Central Catholic High School in Toledo, Ohio, who was recently named a four-star recruit by ESPN.
"Chico is a dynamic athlete with the ability to make plays with the basketball," head coach
Darian DeVries said. "He has a chance to be an elite defender in our program and will help keep playing fast on offense."
Johnson was a First Team All-Ohio and All-District VII Division II Player of the Year in 2021-22. Johnson averaged a team-high 15.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.1 steals per game as a junior.
During the 2020-21 campaign, the sophomore boosted Central Catholic to its first district title since 2011 averaging 14.8 points per game while being honored as All-Ohio Special Mention.
Johnson is the lone Drake men's basketball signee during this year's Fall National Signing Day.
