DES MOINES, Iowa – The Drake men's basketball team has announced the new date for the Inaugural Suit Up Against Pediatric Cancer Game to increase awareness surrounding pediatric cancers is now scheduled to occur on Saturday (Feb. 26) at 3 p.m. against Southern Illinois inside the Knapp Center. The event was originally scheduled for Jan. 8, but that game against Indiana State was postponed due to COVID-19 protocols within the Indiana State men's basketball program.
"The Drake men's basketball program is humbled to host our first Suit Up Against Pediatric Cancer game," head coach
Darian DeVries said. "Our coaches, players, and staff look forward to wearing gold laces to support children and families fighting cancer. We encourage the community to help assist this great cause."
Pediatric cancer patients and their families are invited by the Drake men's basketball team for a memorable day of activities including:
- Pregame meal
- Pregame fun zone including inflatables and activities
- Halftime on-court participation hosted by Simon Sez

The first 1,000 fans at the game on Feb. 26 will receive a t-shirt. The Bulldog men's basketball team will wear gold warmup shirts and gold shoelaces to symbolize all forms of childhood cancers.
