The Drake University women's basketball team heads to Cedar Falls to take on in-state rival Northern Iowa on Saturday Feb. 19 at 2pm.
Drake returns to Iowa after falling to both Missouri State and SIU over the weekend.
Drake took a first half lead over the Bears, but the Bears were able to make the score back and forth in the second half. With eight lead changes and 11 times being tied, the Bears ended up on top.
The Bulldogs were faced with 13 jump-balls while in Springfield.
Drake struggled to gain a lead against SIU in the first half, but made the third quarter the Bulldogs game.
Drake managed to minimize a 15 point Saluki lead to only two points in the third quarter, but ended up falling in the end.
Graduate guard
Maddie Petersen hit 1000 points and 500 assists on her career in back to back plays against SIU.
UNI also fell to Missouri State and SIU over the weekend.
Kam Finley and Karli Rucker led the Panthers against both teams, combining for 37 points against SIU and 28 against Missouri State.
Finely fell just short of her season high 28 when she scored 25 against the Saluki's.
In their meeting earlier this season, Drake came out on top 65-57. The Bulldogs were paced by freshman forward
Anna Miller's 16 points and redshirt-junior forward
Grace Berg's 12.
Drake took the early lead and didn't look back until the fourth quarter when UNI tied the game 51-51.
Ultimately, the Bulldogs came out on top to improve their series record to 68-25 over the Panthers.
After their trip to Cedar Falls, Drake returns home to host Bradley and Illinois State.
