GOODYEAR, Ariz. -- The Drake men's golf team finds itself in seventh place (286, -3) out of 18 teams following day one of the Loyola (Md.) Intercollegiate at Palm Valley Golf Club in Goodyear, Ariz., on Sunday (Feb. 20).
 
Shayne Patel and Nick Pittman are both tied for 15th place with a 70 (-2) in the opening round. Pittman drilled six birdies while Patel tallied four birdies. Tim Lim registered a first round score of 72 to be even after the first 18 holes.

Nikko Ganas (73, +1) and Lucas Scherf (74, +2) rounded out the Bulldog lineup on day one. Ganas' performance was highlighted by an eagle. 

Day two of the three day tournament will get underway with a shotgun start at 7:45 a.m. MST on Monday (Feb. 21).
