DES MOINES, IOWA – The Drake University women's basketball team is set to host their final pair of home games starting Friday Feb. 25 at 6pm against Illinois State. Drake will also host Senior Day after the Sunday Feb. 27 game against Bradley at 2pm.
Drake will honor graduates
Hannah Fuller and
Maddie Petersen, alongside senior
Allie Wooldridge on court Sunday after the Bulldogs meeting with the Braves.
The 13-12, 5-9 Bulldogs look to improve their record before their final road trip of the season and Hoops in the Heartland.
In their last game, Drake topped UNI, 73-68, after a back-and-forth battle in the second half. Freshman forward
Anna Miller and junior guard
Megan Meyer each tallied 16 points, while redshirt-junior forward
Grace Berg added 15.
In their meetings with the Redbirds and Braves earlier this season, Drake fell to ISU but topped Bradley.
Drake had the first half lead against the Redbirds, but Mary Crompton hit a last second three to tie the game 28-28 going into halftime. The Bulldogs shut down ISU's star player JuJu Redmond in the first half and held her to only 11 points total throughout the game.
Against the Braves, the Bulldogs took the lead and never looked back, holding Bradley to only nine points in the fourth quarter.
Junior forward
Maggie Bair led Drake with 19 points, making both shots she took from beyond the arc.
Berg added 16 points for the Bulldogs, making six of eight free throws.
Sophomore
Courtney Becker grabbed a team high 10 rebounds in her 21 minutes against the Braves.
After their final home games, the Bulldogs will head to Indiana for their final regular season games.
