DES MOINES, IOWA -- The Drake University tennis team defeated Northern Illinois, 5-2, after a long fought battle Sunday morning. 

All but one of the six singles matches went into extra sets and Drake won the majority. 

Daria Walczak defeated Anastasia Rakita, 5-7, 6-2, 6-3. Rakita took the first point of sets one and three, but Walczak came out on top in the end. 

Liza Petushkova defeated Iuliia Dmetrieva 2-6, 6(8)-7, 7-5. The secone set went to nine points as the two continued to battle back and forth. 

All three of the Bulldogs doubles duo's defeated their Huskie opponents. 

Rebecca Ehn and Ines Stephani swept Diana Lukyanova and Reagan Welch, 6-0. 

Mille Haagensen and Darinka Stephan took points one through three before the Huskies managed to stop their streak. The Drake duo decided that was the only point they would allow as they went on to score the next three straight. 

The Bulldogs return to action Friday March 4 at 1pm as they host UNI.
