DES MOINES, Iowa – Drake University football and head coach Todd Stepsis announced 11 new Bulldogs after National Signing Day on Feb. 2.

Notes: Recorded 177 tackles, 24 sacks, 29 tackles for loss and two fumble recoveries during his time at Buffalo Grove High School… All-Conference in three consecutive seasons… As a senior earned MSL Defensive Player of the Year honors… Named to IHSFCA 1^st Team All State, All-Conference, All-Area and Champaign News Gazette All-State teams.

Owen Brase | DB | Mt. Vernon, Iowa | Mt. Vernon HS
 
Notes: Athlete who started at quarterbacj and safety for Mt. Vernon… Threw for 970 yards with a 65% completion percentage… Made 30 tackles and 1 interception on the defensive side of the ball… Also played basketball… His father is the head women's basketball coach at Cornell College.

Notes: As a senior, notched 38 tackles including 2.0 for loss with 13 pass breakups plus an interception and touchdown return… Second Team All-Region selection in 2021… Named 'Player of the Week' four times during the 2021 season… His father Craig played football at Clemson from 1982-86.
