AUSTIN, Texas -- The Drake University softball team fell to Texas, 7-0, Sunday morning in in Austin. 

The Bulldogs held off the Longhorns until the bottom of the second when Texas' center fielder singled through the left side allowing two to score. 

After taking a 2-0 lead, the Longhorns went on to score again in the next four innings, including twice in the fourth. 

Two Texas players recorded a solo homerun, one in the bottom of the third and one in the bottom of the fifth. 

Paige Bedsworth and Addie Lightner were the only two Bulldogs to record a hit for Drake. 

Drake begins conference play on Saturday March 19 at Evansville.
