The Drake University softball team (6-15) is headed to Normal, Illinois for a series of games against Illinois State (10-15) starting Saturday March 26 at noon. Saturday's double header will be broadcast on ESPN3. 

The Bulldogs hit the road after opening conference play at Evansville on March 19. Drake won game one 10-1 in five innings. 

Addie Lightner hit a home run with bases loaded in the top of the third to give Drake a 4-0 lead. She led the team with four RBI's. 

Macy Johnson added two RBI's in the Bulldogs first meeting with the Aces and pitcher Nicole Timmons recorded eight strikeouts. 

Drake fell in the final two games against the Aces. 

The Redbirds won game one of their conference opener against Missouri State on March 19, 10-2, in six innings. 

Abby Knight led ISU with four RBI's and Jayden Standish added two. 

Similar to the Bulldogs, the Redbirds fell in the last two games of the series. 

After returning from Normal, the Bulldogs will hold their home opener on Tuesday March 29 against South Dakota.
