DES MOINES, Iowa -- The Drake University softball team swept Bradley in its series and won game three 9-6 Sunday afternoon at Buel Field.
The Bulldogs took a 4-0 in the bottom of the first.
Macy Johnson tripled to left center field, allowing
Emily Valtman to score.
Delaney Taylor then came to the plate and singled to right field, brining Johnson home. Johnson's first run of the afternoon marked the 150th on her career. She sits in first place in Drake history for most career runs.
To close out the first,
Carey Koenig singled to right field, allowing Taylor and
Libby Ryan to score, brining Drake lead to 4-0.
The Braves managed to score their first two runs in the top of the second. Katie Pederson singled to third base, brining in one run due to an error by the Bulldogs.
Camryn Monteer later singled up the center and brought home another Brave to minimize the Bulldogs lead to two.
Valtman and Johnson scored again in the bottom of the second to increase Drake's lead back to four.
Bradley tied the game in top of the third after scoring two and Jordyn van Werf slammed a ball through left field to record two RBI's and tie the game 6-6.
Johnson increased the Bulldogs lead when she singled to left field and advanced to second on an error by the Braves, allowing
Haylee Lehman to score.
Taylor secured the win for the Bulldogs after she singled singled to right field brining both Johnson and Valtman across the plate, 9-6.
Koenig and Valtman led Drake with three RBI's each.
Mackenzie Hupke recorded her s venti career win and
Paige Bedsworth recorded her first career save.
The Bulldogs head to Terre Haute for their next conference series starting Friday April 15 with a double header with Indiana State.
