Drake Relays GA Tickets On Sale Thru April 22, Strengthened University Field to be on Display

As general admission tickets go sale starting April 18, University teams gear up for the 2022 Drake Relays presented by Xtream powered by Mediacom.

DES MOINES, Iowa – Limited Drake Relays presented by Xtream powered by Mediacom general admission single-session tickets are now on-sale on draketix.com/drakerelays through Friday, April 22. Fans in attendance can see the strengthened University field in person.
 
Track and Field programs from conferences such as Big Ten, Big Twelve, SEC, Pac-12, Atlantic Coast, Big East, American Athletic, Missouri Valley, Mid-American, Summit League, Ohio Valley, Mountain West, Big South and Big West will be represented including multiple conference champion squads.
 
Teams attending include Drake, Iowa, Iowa State, Illinois, Kansas State, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina A&T, Notre Dame, Oklahoma State, Purdue, Utah, Air Force, Bradley, Eastern Illinois, Illinois State, Indiana State, Marquette, North Dakota, North Dakota Sttae, Northern Illinois, St. Thomas, South Dakota, South Dakota State, Tulane, Tulsa, UC San Diego, UNI, Western Illinois and Wichita State.
 
North Carolina A&T, which was the only school in the country to have both its men's and women's teams finish in the top four at the 2021 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, and Iowa, which swept the 2021 Big Ten Conference Men's Indoor and Outdoor titles, headline the list of schools that will compete in the 2022 Drake Relays presented by Xtream.

Other 2021 conference champions who will be competing on the famed Blue Oval are Air Force, which captured the 2021 Mountain West Conference Men's Cross Country title; Minnesota, the defending Big Ten women's indoor champ; Oklahoma State, which swept the 2021 Big Twelve Conference men's and women's cross country championships; UNI, the reigning Missouri Valley Conference men's indoor and outdoor team champion and Drake, the 2021 Missouri Valley Conference men's cross country champion. Oklahoma State also was third in the 2021 NCAA Men's Cross Country Championships.

Iowa State, which finished second in the 2021 NCAA Men's Cross Country Championships, will return to defend its Relays Cup Championship in the men's division. The Cyclone women finished second in the 2021 Relays Cup in a historic tiebreak with North Dakota State.
 
Michigan, which finished second in both the 2021 Big Ten Men's Outdoor as well as Men's Cross Country Championships, returns with a full team to the Drake Relays for the first time since 1957. The Michigan women also will return to the Drake Relays for the first time since 2016.
 
Both the men and women's programs from Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri, Nebraska and Purdue also will compete at the Drake Relays in 2022. Kentucky won eight titles, including five in the women's division in its last appearance at the Drake Relays in 2019. Utah, which finished 20th at the 2021 NCAA Cross Country Championships will represent the Pac-12.

North Carolina A&T junior Randolph Ross is the defending NCAA men's outdoor 400 champ, Ross ran legs on the Aggies winning 4x400 relay at the 2021 NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Championships. If that's not enough, Ross also competed in the 2021 Summer Olympics earning a gold medal on Team USA's 4x400 relay.
 
The list of top individual performers already committed to compete at the 2022 Drake Relays also includes two other returning NCAA champs. Kentucky senior Abby Steiner is the defending 2021 NCAA women's indoor 200 champ. Iowa State senior Wesley Kiptoo won the men's 5,000 at the 2021 NCAA Indoor Championships and was second in the 2021 NCAA Men's Cross Country Championship.

Notre Dame from the ACC will be bringing a group to the 2022 Drake Relays as the men's squad claimed fifth at the 2022 ACC indoor championships.
 
From out west, UC San Diego currently owns 35 Big West top-10 rankings in individual events or relays. Tulsa has an impressive distance lineup including three athletes ranked in the Division-I top-25 in the 5k and 10k.
