OMAHA, Nebraska -- The Drake University men's tennis team earned a handful of post season awards, as announced by the Summit League on April 21.
Head coach
Davidson Kozlowski earned Summit League Coach of the Year after leading the Bulldogs to a 4-1 finish Summit play and 11-10 overall record. His team defeated two nationally ranked teams – No. 55 Wichita State and No. 74 Western Michigan.
Evan Fragistas,
Oliver Johansson Matija Matic, and
Reid Jarvis all earned All-League Team honors after their regular season play.
Fragistas and Johansson both went 4-1 in singles play throughout the regular season to record their second All-League Team honors. Fragistas' only loss came in the Bulldogs meeting with Denver. Johansson's only loss occurred against North Dakota due to injury retirement.
Matic went 4-0 in his single play, defeating opponents from Oral Roberts, Omaha, Denver, and North Dakota.
Jarvis went undefeated in singles play in the Summit League and was one of only three men's players to do so.
The Bulldogs return to action Friday April 22 in Omaha at the Summit League Tournament, where they will face North Dakota at 6pm.
