Knapp Center Renovation Update and New Priority Points System Introduced

DES MOINES, Iowa – Construction will begin on the lower level of the Knapp Center later this month of May. The first phase of the Knapp Center renovation will consist of the following:
  •  Replacing all of the existing seats in the lower sections.
  • Creating premium seating sections
  • Filling in the four corners of the lower level with additional seating, creating a "bowl" appearance when the seats are extended from the walls.
  • Renovating existing office space in Shivers Basketball Practice Facility into a new sports medicine and hydrotherapy area.
  • Building a new volleyball coaches office suite.
This overhaul of the Knapp Center will create a unique experience for both our student-athletes and our fans. You can see images of the new Knapp Center look here.

The Knapp Center renovation will also require a re-seating for our season ticket holders. More details about the timing and process of re-seating the Knapp Center will be announced over the coming weeks.

Drake Athletics will be using an updated priority points system as a way to prioritize seat selection for the Knapp Center re-seating process. Drake Athletics has announced an update to our priority points system known as DAPPS (Drake Athletics Priority Points System). The increased demand for tickets, premium seating, and other benefits, such as parking at the Knapp Center is anticipated along with the Knapp Center renovation. DAPPS is designed to reward and support Bulldog fans by recognizing philanthropic giving to Drake Athletics. DAPPS allows the Drake Athletics Department to have a fair, consistent, and transparent method of providing benefits to our Bulldog fans, while also recognizing philanthropy to Drake Athletics.
