DES MOINES, Iowa – Drake University Director of Athletics
Brian Hardin elevated the titles of four Athletic Department employees on Friday, July 1.
Angie Dahl - Assistant Athletics Director for Sports Medicine
Aimee Lane - Assistant Athletics Director for Marketing
Ryan Martin - Assistant Athletics Director for Sports Performance
Nathan Hericks - Head Equipment Manager
Dahl has been with Drake Sports Medicine since 2004 and oversees the entire department. In addition to her administrative responsibilities for the department, she oversees the evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of the football program.
Dahl received her Bachelor of Arts degree in corporate fitness-science from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minn., and her master's degree in public administration from Drake in 2007. She is licensed by the State of Iowa to practice athletic training and is a NATA Board Certified Athletic Trainer. Prior to Drake, Dahl Miller was an assistant athletic trainer and assistant softball coach at Washington University in St. Louis, Mo., for five years.
Lane joined the Drake Athletics team in November of 2012 as the Director of Marketing. She provides oversight of all athletic marketing including managing and executing department and sport specific marketing plans. She also directs the department creative services and brand management and licensing.
A native of Urbandale, Iowa, Lane graduated with a bachelor's degree in Business Management and an Accounting minor from Central College in 2007 where she played basketball for four years. Lane received her Master's in Communication Leadership at Drake University in 2017.
Lane has also worked in the marketing departments of several universities including UNC-Charlotte, University of Colorado, University of Oregon, Florida Atlantic University and Northwestern University.
Martin was named the head strength and conditioning coach and sports nutrition counselor in the summer of 2020 after serving as the interim director since December 2019. He has been on staff at Drake since 2011.
Martin previously worked for the University of Iowa, where he earned his B.A. in Health and Sports Studies with an emphasis in Exercise Science. He also worked for the University of Missouri-Kansas City prior to coming to Drake. At Drake, he earned a Masters of Science in (ALOP) Leadership after working as a graduate assistant from 2008-11.
Martin is a native of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and is a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He is certified as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist and Precision Nutrition Level I.
Hericks arrived in Des Moines in October of 2021 and assumed the role of assistant equipment manager. Prior to Drake, Hericks assisted the University of Cincinnati equipment staff in multiple capacities as a student equipment manager, intern and graduate assistant.
Hericks earned his bachelor's degree in Sport and Fitness Administration/Management from Cincinnati in 2020.
