MANHATTAN, Kan. -- The Drake men's golf team finished play at its first tournament of the season, the Wildcat Invitational at Colbert Hills Golf Course (Par 72) on Tuesday (Sept. 13). The Bulldogs (299-298-305-902) finished in 12
th place out of 15 teams.
Cale Leonard (74-73-75-222) was consistent (36 total pars) in his first collegiate tournament for a 23
rd place finish.
Nick Pittman (76-74-74-224) jumped 10 spots to a tie for 27
th after the final round draining a total of 10 birdies.
Jack Dumas (70-79-79-228) led the team through round one on Monday and concluded with a total score of 228 sinking a team-best 12 birdies.
Silvester Tan (79-75-77-231) and
Shayne Patel (79-76-81-236) navigated the course to help the Bulldogs complete their first tournament of 2022.
Kansas State won its own event with a team score of 837 (-27), a full 27 strokes ahead of second place North Dakota State (864, E).
Drake men's golf will host the Zach Johnson Invitational at Glen Oaks Country Club in West Des Moines Sept. 26-27.
