LINCOLN, Neb. -- The Drake University cross country teams competed the Greeno/Dirksen Invitational at Mahoney Park Golf Course on Saturday, Sept. 17 in Lincoln, Neb.
Enzo Marie led the way for the Drake men on Saturday morning with an eighth place finish and 8K time of 24:30.45.
Connor Visnic (25:36.00) finished in 50
th and was joined in the same pack for most of the day by
Pur Biel (25:51.92).
Brendan Cain (26:01.27) and
Jack Burns (26:22.91) bot set new personal records to round out the Bulldog lineup.
"The men we brought took care of business," head coach
Jay Koloseus said. "
Enzo Marie ran a very confident race passing people the entire way."
In the women's 5K,
Brooke Mullins (17:17.22) took third place.
Tyla Lumley (18:01.98) and
Emilie Meyer (18:04.06) finished just outside of the top-10 in 12
th and 13
th respectively.
Anastasia Kirillov (18:39.34) was next for Drake followed by
Barbara Vrhovac (18:49.14).
"We brought much more of our roster on the women's side with a goal to solidify that side of our program," Koloseus said. The ladies ran a great race with
Brooke Mullins leading the charge. It was a solid day for the Bulldogs out in Lincoln."
Katherine Lawson (18:55.34) and
Anna Knueve (19:07.76) made their Drake debuts.
Madysen Klebenow logged a time of 20:06.70 while
Maia Italia and
Lauren Low turned in times of 20:27.42 and 20:49.76 respectively.
The next meet on the schedule for Drake cross country is the Gans Creek Classic hosted by Mizzou on Friday (Sept. 30).
