Schifris Defeats Nationally Ranked Opponent, Drake Falls at Illinois

Jeremy Schifris excelled in his singles match against a Top-100 ranked opponent and Evan Fragistas earned another singles win early on in the season.

URBANA, Ill. – Jeremy Schifris picked up a win over No. 95 ITA-rated Hunter Heck as the Drake men's tennis team dropped a dual, 5-2 at Illinois on Sunday, Jan. 29.

No. 2 Doubles: Evan Fragistas and Schifris lost to Mathis Debru and Oliver Okonkwo (0-6)
No. 3 Doubles: Markus Bolin and Olle Sonesson Lidholt lost to William Mroz and Kenta Miyoshia (4-6)

No. 1 Singles: Schifris defeated Hunter Heck (4-6, 6-2, 7-5)
No. 2 Singles: Matic lost to Ozolins (1-6, 6-7)
No. 3 Singles: Johansson lost to Alex Petrov (3-6, 3-6)
