NEWTON, Kan. -- Drake men's golf has been following the lead of freshman Emil Riegger after his opening day performance in the Grier Jones Shocker Invitational on Monday, Oct. 9 at Sand Creek Station Golf Course (Par 72 | 7,182 yards). The Bulldogs (292-286--578) are tied for 11th as a team.

Riegger (70-71--141) was under par in both of the first two rounds as he finds himself in a tie for 17th place overall. He leads Drake with eight birdies through 36 holes. Jack Dumas (74-72--146) and Nikko Ganas (75-72--147) were both even par in the second round. 

Jake Weissenburger (73-75--148) was next in the lineup for 36-hole score as Silvester Tan (79-71--150) displayed an eight-stroke improvement in round two and recorded Drake's lone eagle of the day. 

The final round is slated to begin on Tuesday, Oct. 10 at 8:30 a.m.
