The Basics
Drake volleyball will close out a four-game homestand as they take on Evansville on Friday, Nov. 3rd 6 at 6 p.m. and Indiana State on Saturday, Nov. 4 at 5 p.m. This weekend's matches will finalize the Bulldogs regular season home slate.
Bulldogs by the Numbers
Drake will bring an 18-7 overall and 11-2 mark in conference play into the weekend. The Bulldogs defended the Knapp Center last weekend with sweeps of Bradley (10/27) and Illinois State (10/28).
Taylor Oberpriller has led a high-powered Bulldog offense this season with 342 kills, which is good for third in the Missouri Valley in total and fourth per set at 3.77.
Haley Bush (296) and
Macy Daufeldt (284) have also played a part in the Bulldogs' balanced attack. Setter
Addison Beagle continues to lend a hand with a team-high 832 assists.
Defensively,
Jada Wills leads the Missouri Valley Conference with 531 digs.
Kacie Rewerts has continued to shine at the net, racking up a league-high 138 total blocks.
Scouting Evansville
The Purple Aces bring an 8-17 overall record and 3-10 MVC record into the weekend. They are currently on a six-match losing streak, last beating UIC on Oct. 13.
The Purple Aces' attack is paced by junior Giulia Cardona with 482 kills. Melanie Feliciano has added 315 kills to the Evansville attack. Kora Ruff has earned the third most assists in the Missouri Valley at 835.
Drake leads the all-time series over Evansville, 35-26, and they hold a 16-13 advantage at home. Earlier this year, the Bulldogs took a 3-0 victory over the Purple Aces in Evansville.
Scouting Indiana State
The Sycamores come into the weekend with a record of 3-20 overall. Their three wins on the year came against Alabama State (8/26), UL-Monroe (9/1) and UIC (10/14).
The team is led offensively by Kira Holland with 250 kills. Their balanced attack also runs through Ella Scott and Karinna Gall with 162 and 151 kills, respectively. Avery hales has lent a helping hand, racking up a team-high 398 assists to this point.
Drake leads the all-time series with Indiana State by a 40-29 margin, including a win in three of the last five. Drake took a 3-0 win away from Terre Haute earlier this year.
