LEXINGTON, Ky. – Three Drake volleyball players were named to the AVCA All-Midwest Region Team.
Jada Wills,
Taylor Oberpriller, and
Haley Bush added the national recognition to their 2023 catalog.
Wills, the 2023 MVC Libero of the Year, and Oberpriller, Drake's offensive leader this season, were listed on the AVCA All-Region First Team.
Haley Bush, Drake's all-time leader in kills, earned Honorable Mention status. This is Bush's third time on the AVCA All-Region team.
This is the first time Drake has had multiple All-Region honorees since the inception of the award in 2007.
There are 14 All-Region team members and additional honorable mention selections for each of the 10 regions. The regions also selected a Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year, and Coach of the Year for 2023.
The more than 200 student-athletes who made All-Region represent 103 different schools, led by the University of Louisville and the University of Pittsburgh with seven selections each. The University of Nebraska, the University of Oregon, and Stanford University have six apiece. In total, nine players from four different MVC schools were included on the All-Region list. The All-Region trio and the rest of the Bulldogs put together another successful season with their second-straight MVC regular season and MVC runner-up finish. Drake's season is still going strong as the Bulldogs are set to take on Wichita State in Wichita, Kan. tomorrow evening in the NIVC quarterfinals.

Region Freshman of the Year: Nayeli Gonzalez, Iowa State University, OH
Region Coach of the Year: Colleen Munson, Western Michigan University
