DES MOINES, Iowa – The Drake University Athletic Department achieved an overall Graduation Success Rate (GSR) of 93 percent to mark the eighth time in history that Drake has posted a score of at least 90 including each of the last six years, according to data released by the NCAA.
"I have witnessed Drake student-athletes strive for academic greatness since I arrived on campus six years ago," Drake director of athletics Brian Hardin said. "Graduating student-athletes is always a top priority of any athletics department. Much of the credit goes to our student-athletes for committing to their studies, but I commend our coaches for identifying and mentoring student-athletes that excel in Drake's academic environment. I must also recognize the incredible work done by Stephanie Sledge, Jordan Prantner and Ann Regan in our student-athlete academic success department. Because of so many in our department, Drake Athletics is experiencing sustained excellence in the classroom which complements the success we are seeing in other aspects of our well-rounded department."
Men's tennis, women's basketball, women's golf, softball, women's soccer and women's tennis all earned perfect scores.
