IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Lucas Scherf continued his impressive spring as the Drake men's golf team (293-291-291--875) finished ninth at the Hawkeye Invitational hosted by Finkbine Golf Course (Par 72 | 7174 yards) on Saturday, April 15. 

Scherf (75-68-72--215) turned in a team-low round of 68 in the second round to end up in a tie for 16th marking his fourth consecutive Top-20 placing this season. Jack Dumas (70-74-76--220) finished tied for 37th overall after he had Drake's lowest scorer in the opening round.

Nate Spear (76-77-68--221) fired a season-low 68 of his own in the final round and Nikko Ganas (72-73-76--221) also finished with a 54-hole total of 22. 

Nick Pittman (76-76-75--227) rounded out the Bulldog lineup while Shayne Patel (75-72-75--222) competed as an individual.

Drake will now prepare for the MVC Championships April 23-25 at Oakwood Country Club in Coal Valley, Ill.
