DES MOINES, Iowa – The Drake women's tennis team (11-7, 4-1) picked up back-to-back shutout victories this weekend. The Bulldogs dominated Missouri State and Valparaiso in their penultimate home matches.
 

Drake 7, Missouri State 0
The Bulldogs started their weekend yesterday with a 7-0 drubbing of Missouri State.
 
Drake was able to secure the doubles point after sweeping the tandem action. Duos of Mille Haagensen/Darinka Stepan, Ines Stephani/Oriana Parkins-Godwin, and Elizabete Klavinska/Rebecca Ehn all won their respective bouts by a 6-1 score.
 
 The Bulldogs the swept singles play as their top five players all won in straight sets. Haagensen completed the most efficient victory, beating the Bears' Tiera Jarmond 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 2 spot.
 
 
Drake 7, Valparaiso 0
Sunday's action went down in similar fashion as Drake was able to earn their second 7-0 triumph in as many days, this time over Valpo.
 
The same doubles lineup got the same doubles result as the Bulldogs picked up the point.
 
The Beacons provided slightly more of a challenge for Drake including a pair of three-set matches. At No. 3, Klavinska was able to shut down Valpo's Demi Jhaveri with two 6-0 sets after falling behind 4-6 in the opener. In the No. 5 spot, the usually precise Parkins-Godwin had some trouble with the Beacons' Eleanor Chapman, but earned the 6-3, 2-6, 7-6 win.
 
Haagensen again made quick work of her opponent in the No. 2 position, taking down Moira Silva 6-4, 6-0.
 
Drake will conclude their road schedule in their next two matches with a trip to Belmont on Saturday, Apr. 8 and a date at UNI on Saturday, Apr. 15.
