The Basics
Drake men's golf will travel east on Interstate 80 to Coal Valley, Ill. for the 2023 MVC Championships at Oakwood Country Club. The Bulldogs, and the remainder of the Valley teams, will contend for a crown on the 6,760-yard, par 71 track designed by legendary golf course architect Pete Dye.
 
The 2023 MVC Men's Golf Championships will tee off on Sunday, Apr. 23 and run until Tuesday, Apr. 25.

Last Time Out
Lucas Scherf continued his impressive spring as the Drake men's golf team (293-291-291--875) finished ninth at the Hawkeye Invitational hosted by Finkbine Golf Course (Par 72 | 7174 yards) on Saturday, April 15. 

Scherf (75-68-72--215) turned in a team-low round of 68 in the second round to end up in a tie for 16th marking his fourth consecutive Top-20 placing this season. Jack Dumas (70-74-76--220) finished tied for 37th overall after he had Drake's lowest scorer in the opening round.

Nate Spear (76-77-68--221) fired a season-low 68 of his own in the final round and Nikko Ganas (72-73-76--221) also finished with a 54-hole total of 221. 

Nick Pittman (76-76-75--227) rounded out the Bulldog lineup while Shayne Patel (75-72-75--222) competed as an individual.
