Women's Basketball Adds Brown as Grad Transfer

Waukee native commits to Bulldogs for final year of collegiate career

DES MOINES, Iowa – The Drake University women's basketball program has made an early offseason addition through the transfer portal. The Bulldogs have brought in former Loyola Chicago guard Anna Brown to their roster.

The 5-foot, 10-inch guard has played in 99 career games with starts in 31. She was in the Ramblers' starting lineup in all 30 of their matchups last season. Over her career, Brown has recorded 4.6 points and 2.3 rebounds per game. In the 2022-23 campaign, Brown's averages increased as she netted 7.0 ppg, 3.4 rpg, and 1.2 apg.

Brown is also a native of Waukee, Iowa, and a former teammate of current Drake guard Katie Dinnebier at Waukee High School where she scored 16 points per game at a 42 percent three-point shooting rate.

"Adding Anna Brown to our team feels like a 'welcome home' moment," Suzie Glazer Burt Head Coach Allison Pohlman said of the addition. "Anna is very familiar with a lot of our players and this move also brings her back to Iowa. Her high basketball IQ, love for the game, and ability to consistently shoot the three are just a few reasons why we are all just ecstatic to welcome her to our Drake Basketball family."

Brown will graduate from Loyola Chicago next month. She has one year of eligibility remaining.
