DES MOINES, Iowa — Drake volleyball will look to build on their record-setting 2022 season the year. The Bulldogs' 2023 schedule has been announced and is listed on the Drake athletic website.
With another round of improvements to be made to the Knapp Center, the Bulldogs will again start the 2023 season away from home. Drake opens their campaign with a trip to the Dayton Invitational in Dayton, Ohio from Aug. 25-26. They will then head to the Pacific Northwest for a three-match stint at the Cougar Challenge hosted by Washington State University in Pullman, Wash from Sep. 1-2.
Drake will conclude their invitational schedule with two more local events, the South Dakota Classic in Vermillion, S.D. from Sep. 7-9 and the Cardinal & Gold Classic in Ames, Iowa from Sep. 14-16.
The Bulldogs will remain on the road to begin Missouri Valley Conference play with trips to Illinois State on Sep. 22 and Bradley on Sep. 23.
The home slate will get underway the next weekend with tilts against UIC on Sep. 29 and Valparaiso on Sep. 30.
Drake's rivalry with UNI will again be on display twice this season with the first coming on Oct. 16 in Des Moines. The Bulldogs and Panthers will close their season series in the regular season finale on Nov. 15 in Cedar Falls. The Bulldogs' voyage to UNI will cap off a three-match road swing to finish the schedule.
The 2023 MVC Tournament will be hosted by Missouri State University from Nov. 19-22 in Springfield, Mo.
