ST. LOUIS -- Drake women's soccer freshman forward Angela Gutierrez displayed a stellar debut week to be named Missouri Valley Conference Women's Soccer Freshman of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday, Aug. 22. 

Gutierrez delivered the game-winning goal in the opening minutes of Drake's 1-0 win on Sunday (Aug. 20) at Green Bay. She provided an assist in the convincing 4-0 win against Parkside on Friday (Aug. 18).

The Bulldog women's soccer team is off to a 2-0 start for the fourth time in program history as it will seek a 3-0 start in Thursday's (Aug. 24) home opener at 7 p.m. against South Dakota State.
