THE BASICS
The 2023 Drake rowing fall season will begin at the Head of the Des Moines on Saturday, Sept. 22.  The race will be held in Prospect Park adjacent to the Bright-Beckwith boathouse.
 
TEAM CAPTAINS
Mary Jonas, Sara Wilson and Kiernan Blanchard were named captains for Drake this season.
 
COACH CHARLIE DISILVESTRO ON STARTING THE 2023 FALL SEASON
"We have a really good group returning. I'm really happy that we now have novices starting and they are another good group that have been getting some rowing time recently. The leadership of our captains has been great and we are in a really good place to start the fall season."

COACH DISILVESTRO ON THE TEAM'S GOALS FOR THE HEAD OF THE DES MOINES
"We want to see that everyone gets a nice race under their belt on Saturday. We want to make sure that it's an enjoyable day of practice for the novices and we'll want to get the first race of the year jitters out. We also want to show off our house as the Bright-Beckwith Boathouse will be prominently seen throughout the day."

COACH DISILVESTRO ON THE COURSE AND POTENTIAL WEATHER
"It's a 2.5 mile course, we'll go by Birdland park and will finish around our boathouse. No matter what it is, we will handle the weather. I'm confident that the team can row through anything."
 
COMPETING TEAMS
Drake will be competing against the St. Thomas crew club, Wheaton College crew, Nebraska, St. Olaf rowing club and Macalester crew.

SCHEDULE
Drake will begin rowing at 8:30 a.m. and row their final race at 11:35 a.m. (CT). The Bulldogs are set to race seven pairs at 8:30 a.m., one eight at 10:30 a.m. and three fours at 11:35 a.m.
