ST. LOUIS -- Drake women's soccer freshman forward Angela Gutierrez was named Missouri Valley Conference Women's Soccer Freshman of the Week for the second time already this season, the league announced on Wednesday, Sept. 6.

Gutierrez contributed to both goals in Drake's 2-2 draw with Creighton on Sunday (Sept. 3). She scored Drake's first goal in the 35^th minute on a header and drew the penalty with a creative move at the right side of the 18-yard box to set up Emma Nagel's game-tying penalty kick goal in the second half. After missing both games last week, Gutierrez returned by logging 71 minutes on the pitch against Creighton.

The Bulldog women's soccer team continues its homestand at Drake Stadium against St. Thomas on Thursday, Sept. 7 at 7 p.m. and Omaha for Senior Day on Sunday, Sept. 10 at 1 p.m.
