ST. LOUIS, Mo. – For the fourth time this season and the second consecutive week,
Jada Wills was named the MVC Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
Wills continued her successful season this past weekend helping lead the Bulldogs to a pair of sweeps over Indiana State and Evansville. The Dubuque, Iowa native poured in back-to-back defensive performances where she recorded 27 digs against the Sycamores and Aces each. In the match against Evansville, Wills wrote herself into the Drake volleyball history books as she became the programs career digs leader passing Kylee Macke's mark of 2,535 digs. Nationally, Wills ranks No. 1 this season in total digs with 547 and digs per set at 6.84.
Wills and the rest of the Drake volleyball squad return to the court this weekend with two contests on the road against Belmont (Nov. 1) and Murray State (Nov. 2).
