She was then eliminated from contention by Bruna Melato of Murray State (4-6, 6-4, 10-5) in the backdraw field.

Nicole Lee picked up a win in Flight 2 over Belmont's Hana Sokolovic (6-1, 6-1) before running into Murray State's Varvara Alexeyeva (2-6, 2-6). Lee went on to defeat Kim Zizek of UNI (6-2, 0-6, 10-7) to reach the consolation bracket final. Lucy Latham of Missouri State ended Lee's run (5-7, 6-1, 4-10) as Lee took sixth.

In doubles play, Koralnik and Popiol teamed up to get an 8-4 win over the duo of Zizek and Raznatovic from UNI to open Flight 1 action. UIC's team of Cosmo/Ushio then won a back-and-forth match 8-7 (7-2) to reach the semifinals.
