The Basics
The Bulldog women are on island time this week for the San Juan Shootout in tropical Puerto Rico. Drake is set for games against Wyoming (Nov. 28), Green Bay (Nov. 29), and Washington State (Nov. 30) as part of this year's MTE action.
Bulldog Bites
Drake fought to the very end in their last time out against Iowa State. The Bulldogs got 39 from
Katie Dinnebier in another prolific performance, but an Audi Crooks two just before the final horn gave the No. 8 Cyclones the edge, 80-78.
The Bulldogs have played in an MTE in nearly every year the program has existed, only missing 1993,1998, 2003-05, 2008, and 2020. Drake is 50-39 all-time in games played at multi-team events. The Bulldogs are 6-2 in MTE games during the
Allison Pohlman era. Pohlman has led the Dogs in the last three MTEs: the Vibrant Thanksgiving Classic (Des Moines, Iowa), FIU Thanksgiving Classic (Miami, Fla.), and The Nugget Classic (Reno, Nev.).
Drake has won at least one game in every MTE since 2014. The Bulldogs have gone undefeated at 13 MTEs and winless eight times. Their only 3-0 trip came at The Nugget Classic in Reno in 2021, and only 0-3 stint came at the Hawaii Rainbow Wahine Classic in 1990. This is Drake's first MTE out of the continental United States since the Vancouver Showcase in 2018 which featured a win over No. 12 South Carolina. It is the Dogs' first Caribbean MTE since competing at the Cancun Challenge in 2011.
