The Basics
The Drake women's volleyball team is back in Des Moines for its final home weekend contests. The Bulldogs will host Valparaiso and UIC on Nov. 8 and 9 with the regular season winding down. Saturday night's contest versus the Flames will also serve as the Senior Day celebration.
Bulldogs by the Numbers
After picking up two more wins last weekend, Drake improved its conference record to 12-1 on the season. The Bulldogs come into the weekend in second in the MVC standings behind UNI. Overall, Drake owns a record of 16-8 and is riding a six-match win streak, its second-longest winning streak this season. The Bulldogs won seven-straight from Sep. 21-Oct. 14. Drake has yet to lose a match in the Knapp Center this season with an unblemished record of 6-0 at home.

Scouting Valparaiso
Valparaiso comes to Des Moines posting an overall record of 15-10 and has a conference mark of 7-6, which puts it fourth in the MVC. The Beacons were swept by Missouri State in Springfield last Friday, but responded with a sweep over Southern Illinois on Saturday to split the weekend. The loss to Missouri State ended a five-match winning streak for the Beacons, which was the program's second-longest streak in conference play since joining the MVC.
In the all-time series between Drake and Valpo, the Beacons lead 13-8. Recently, the Bulldogs have fared well against the Beacons winning the previous four matchups including the one last month in Indiana.

Scouting UIC
The Flames come into the weekend on a four-match win streak. UIC posts an overall record of 18-7 on the season and has gone 10-3 during the conference slate, which puts it in third in the MVC standings. In games played away from the Windy City, the Flames have gone 5-3. Before its contest with Drake, UIC travels to Cedar Falls for a matchup with league leader UNI.
Drake owns a slight advantage over the Flames in the all-time series leading 6-5. The Bulldogs and Flames have had competitive matches in the more recent duels with Drake taking three of the last five. Drake and UIC faced off once already this year on Oct. 4 in Chicago with the Bulldogs winning, 3-1.
