Dumas Lands in Top-10, Drake Delivers Top-5 Team Finish

The Drake men's golf team had another strong showing amidst tough conditions.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Drake men's golf team battled through less than ideal spring conditions for a top-five team finish at the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate at Twin Oaks Country Club (Par 71). The Bulldogs (287-280-282—849) finished three under par as a team over three rounds to end up in fourth on the team leaderboard out of 13 teams.

"I'm really proud of how the team did the past couple of days," head coach Matt Lewis said. "The top four guys all finished in the top 25 individually. The guys had to battle some challenging conditions with extremely cold weather yesterday and very windy conditions today. The weather forced us into in two 27-hole days which makes for two long days. Jack had a really good tournament and Emil bounced back after a rough first 18."

Jack Dumas (69-70-71—210) turned in a top-10 performance and wasn't over par any of the three rounds.

Emil Riegger (77-67-69—213) displayed great resolve to improve his second round score by 10 scores en route to an even par showing for the tournament.

Silvester Tan (72-72-71—215) and Nikko Ganas (71-72-72—215) wound up in a tie for 25th place. Jake Weissenburger (75-71-71—217) continued to ger valuable experience and was even par over the final two rounds.

The Hawkeye Invitational in Iowa City awaits Drake next April 13-14.
