DES MOINES, Iowa – Drake University women's soccer has finalized its 2024 season schedule, the team announced this morning. The defending MVC regular season champions will battle their way through another tough non-league slate and work towards their second straight league crown in Valley play. The entire schedule can be found at the link provided.
After an Aug. 10 exhibition against North Dakota State in Minneapolis, the Bulldog women officially kick off their 2024 campaign in the other Twin City with a road match at St. Thomas on Aug. 15. They will then return home for three straight contests in Mediacom Stadium including two against Big 12 Conference foes Kansas (Aug. 18) and Iowa State (Aug. 22), and the third versus Butler (Aug. 25). The Bulldogs' tilt with ISU is set to lead off the first-ever men's and women's soccer doubleheader on Drake's campus. August will wrap up with a trip to South Dakota, the first of three consecutive road matches.
Drake will continue its tour of Summit League country with visits to Omaha and South Dakota State to jump start the month of September before returning to Des Moines for another three-game homestand. From Sep. 12-19, the Dogs will welcome Green Bay, Western Illinois, and begin MVC action with a visit from Missouri State. They will then travel to Valparaiso prior to hosting Illinois State as September comes to a close.
Head coach
Lindsey Horner's club will start the last month of the regular season with a Hoosier State swing at Indiana State (Oct. 3) and Evansville (Oct. 6). The Bulldogs' busy October will advance with four home matches in a row as Belmont, UIC, UNI, and Murray State are set to venture to DSM. Drake will then punctuate its regular season in the same way it started--on the road. The 2024 regular season schedule will culminate in an Oct. 24 tilt at Southern Illinois.
The 2024 MVC Tournament will be played between Oct. 31-Nov. 10.
