POWELLS POINT, N.C. – The Drake men's golf team wrapped up its fall season on Monday evening with the conclusion of the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate. Due to weather the event which was originally scheduled for three days of play changed to two days with golfers playing 27 holes each day.

Drake ended the tournament tied for 11th in the 16-team field. The Bulldogs finished with a final tally of 892 (293-304-295). William & Mary took home the team title shooting an even par 852 (294-279-279).
"The tournament schedule was modified due to weather moving in on Tuesday," Drake head coach
Matt Lewis said. "We had two long days playing 27 holes back-to-back. Overall, we were disappointed with our performance. We had too many big numbers and our short game game was off. I felt we hit the ball good enough but didn't putt well and this hurt our ability to score. I was proud of how the team handled the adversity with the schedule change and the challenging weather. It was cold and windy which impacted the course."

Leading the Bulldogs in the tournament were a pair of freshmen in
Luke Bohmer and
Sammy Bonaobra. The Drake duo tied for 25th on the leaderboard as each recorded a 219, 54-hole total. Bohmer displayed consistency posting three consecutive rounds of 73 en route to his top-25 result. Bonaobra, meanwhile, shot rounds of 69-74-76. His opening round of 69 marked a new career 18-hole low for the Broken Arrow, Oklahoma native.

Nate Spear followed on the leaderboard finishing just outside the top-50 and tied for 51st at 226. The senior opened with rounds of 76 and 79, but bounced back nicely with an even par, 71 in his final round.
"Sammy and Luke played well especially considering this was a new course for them," Lewis said. "Nate had a solid final 18 holes in the most difficult weather of the tournament."

Completing the Bulldog lineup was
Jake Weissenburger and
Sam Johnson. Weissenburger finished tied for 67th with a 230 (75-78-77) final score and Johnson tied for 75th at 235 (79-81-75).

Eli Felty from William & Mary won individual medalist honors posting a score of 4-under, 209. Felty bested Georgetown's Carson Erick by one stroke to take top honors.
"We had a solid fall despite our play this week," Lewis added. "We have a ton to evaluate and work on this offseason."

This concludes the fall schedule for Drake. The Bulldogs will return to the course in 2026 for their spring season with a schedule to be announced at a later date.
