EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Drake volleyball was on the road on Friday night for its penultimate road match of the 2025 regular season. The Bulldogs stumbled early but were able to find their rhythm in a 3-1 victory over Evansville.
The Purple Aces scratched out a win in a marathon first set that ended 28-26. The two teams traded blows until Drake (15-11, 11-4) seemed to gain control late in the period with a 5-0 run that included kills by
Kacia Brown and
Bliss Beck, but Evansville (6-21, 2-13) retaliated. UE fought to even the match at 24-24 then again at 25-25 before eventually securing the set win.
The second set was another back-and-forth affair, but this time the Bulldogs had enough in the tank. Drake never trailed in the frame, building a lead as wide as five points on two separate occasions in the set. Back-to-back kills by Beck and
Caroline Smith eventually ended the second stanza at 25-21 in favor of the Dogs.
Drake's dominance continued in the third as the Bulldogs blazed by UE, 25-15, before another competitive fourth set finished the evening. A quartet of kills by
Macy Daufeldt,
Aniyah Davis, and two from Brown gave the Dogs a quick spurt to secure the match win with a 25-21 result in the fourth.
Daufeldt led Drake with 13 kills, just ahead of Brown's dozen.
Addison Beagle dished out a team-high 24 assists while
Katie Quick made 18. Daufeldt also matched
Gabbie Schroeder on the defensive side with 12 digs while
Bliss Beck paced Drake with six digs.
The Bulldogs are back in action Saturday for a 4 p.m. match at Indiana State. Drake's tilt with the Sycamores will be its final regular season contest of the year.
