INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Freshman running back
Nick Herman has earned another weekly honor after his standout regular season finale effort with the FCS National Freshman Player of the Week, Stats Perform announced this morning.
Herman rushed for 253 yards, the most by a Drake player since 2003, in leading the Bulldogs past Morehead State 17-10 for their third straight outright Pioneer Football League title. The biggest of his carries was a 77-yard touchdown run with 3:05 remaining to extend Drake's lead to 17-7. He is 40 yards shy of 1,000 for the season as the Bulldogs enter the FCS playoffs.
Herman and the rest of the Bulldogs will be back in action this Saturday, Nov. 29, in the first round of the 2025 FCS Playoffs. Drake is set for a rematch in Vermillion with postseason kick-off slated for noon at The DakotaDome.
